Lyon has no shortage of great addresses or great roads: the Presqu'île and Old Lyon to arrive in style, the Beaujolais and the Monts du Lyonnais to drive, the Alps two hours away. Corsiva delivers its luxury cars here from its agency in Chambéry, about an hour away on the A43 motorway. This guide covers what to know before you book: the models and their prices, where the car can be delivered, the terms, and how a rental works from start to finish.

In brief

Five things to know
  • Six cars, from the Mercedes-Benz CLA AMG at €160 a day to the Mercedes G 63 AMG 2025 at €1,000 a day.
  • Delivery to Lyon Part-Dieu station, with the price shown when you book; to your address or Saint-Exupéry Airport, on quote.
  • 200 km a day included, with fully comprehensive insurance, across the whole fleet.
  • The deposit is a card pre-authorisation, not debited if everything is in order.
  • Your online request comes with no payment: the 30% down payment is only due once our team has approved it.

Why rent with Corsiva in Lyon

Corsiva is a luxury car rental company based in Chambéry, in Savoie. Corsiva runs its fleet itself: no broker, no third-party rental company, and each car is maintained and prepared by the team that hands you the keys. It is also the team you speak to on the phone, 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm, before and during your rental.

Lyon is the closest major city to our agency. Lyon Part-Dieu station is one of our delivery points, with the price shown when you book, and any other address in the metropolitan area can be served on quote. You get a fleet looked after by a local rental company, without having to travel to Savoie. All the practical details are also on our luxury car rental in Lyon page.

Which car to choose

The fleet has six models, from sports cars to prestige SUVs. The right choice depends mostly on how you will use it: the number of passengers, the luggage, the roads you have in mind.

For the joy of driving

The BMW M3 Competition, with 530 hp and five seats, is the fleet's all-round sports car: easy-going in town, sharp on the Beaujolais back roads. The fully electric Porsche Taycan delivers its 480 hp instantly and in complete silence; it seats four.

For travelling as a group

The hybrid Porsche Cayenne Coupé, with 462 hp, has five seats (the fifth is smaller) and a generous boot: the car for family trips and drives into the Alps. The Mercedes G 63 AMG 2025, with 585 hp, is the most commanding car in the fleet, for an arrival nobody will miss.

For a more accessible rental

The BMW M235i xDrive (from €200 a day) and the electric Mercedes-Benz CLA AMG (from €160 a day) are also part of the fleet, on the same terms: 200 km a day, fully comprehensive insurance and a €3,500 deposit.

Where to collect the car

Three options, depending on your plans:

  • At Lyon Part-Dieu station, delivery and collection included: the price is shown when you book. The simplest option if you arrive by TGV or live near the station.
  • At your address: hotel, home, office, Perrache station, Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport. The price depends on the distance; it is calculated and confirmed by our team before anything is booked.
  • In Chambéry, at the agency or the railway station, free of charge. Direct regional TER trains link Lyon Part-Dieu with Chambéry: the ideal option if your trip continues into the Alps.

In every case, the car is returned where it was handed over. The handover takes about five minutes: digital condition report and contract signed on the spot.

Visiting from abroad

Flying in or arriving by train? A few points make the rental straightforward:

  • Getting here: Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport is served by flights from across Europe, and Lyon Part-Dieu is about two hours from Paris by TGV. The car can be waiting at the station (the price is shown when you book) or delivered to the airport on quote. Prefer not to drive straight off the plane? A chauffeur-driven transfer is available on quote.
  • Documents: a valid driving licence and an ID document, front and back, uploaded with your request. If your licence was issued outside the European Union, contact us before booking so our team can check your file.
  • Payment: prices are in euros, VAT included. The down payment is paid through a secure Stripe link, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; the deposit is a card pre-authorisation.
  • Driving in France: most French motorways are tolled, and tolls are never included in the rental. From November to March, every car leaves winter-equipped at no extra cost.
  • Crossing borders: Geneva is under two hours from Lyon by motorway. The international cover option, at €20 a day subject to approval, extends to Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Spain.

Booking in four steps

What is included, and what is not

  • Included: 200 km a day, fully comprehensive insurance and, from November to March, winter equipment (winter tyres or chains) across the fleet.
  • Extra mileage: packs of 250, 300 or 350 km can be added for €350, €420 and €490; for the G 63 AMG 2025, packs of 100 km (€180) and 250 km (€425). Beyond that, contact us.
  • Options: additional driver (€20 a day), international cover for Italy, Switzerland, Germany or Spain (€20 a day, subject to approval), late return until 11pm (€120), champagne on board or a bouquet of flowers (€60 each).
  • Fuel: if you return the car without refuelling, the no-refuel option applies (€30).
  • Never included: motorway tolls.

Deposit, insurance, documents

The deposit is a card pre-authorisation taken at handover: the amount is held, not debited, and released on return if everything is in order. It ranges from €3,500 (BMW M235i xDrive, Mercedes-Benz CLA AMG) to €15,000 (Mercedes G 63 AMG 2025).

Fully comprehensive insurance, through AXA, Allianz and Groupama, is included in the price. In the event of at-fault damage, the repairs or the remaining excess are charged to you, within the limit set in the contract.

Documents: a valid driving licence and an ID document, front and back, uploaded with your request; a proof of address can be added. The originals are checked at handover.

Hours and weekends

Pick-ups and returns take place from 9am to 8pm, Sunday to Friday; the agency is closed on Saturdays. You can rent from one day, but a rental covering a weekend lasts at least two days: most guests collect the car on Friday and return it on Sunday. Our article on a weekend in a Porsche from Lyon suggests three routes to make the most of it.

For a wedding, a conference or a gala, the car can also come with a chauffeur: see our article on a prestige car for an event in Lyon. And if your stay continues into the mountains, our French Alps page lists every alpine pick-up point.
